NBL and NBA teams to play as part of third consecutive preseason

The previous two years have seen NBL teams play NBA teams in the preseason and it will continue next season. The NBA and NBL made the announcement recently. The Adelaide 36ers,Melbourne United, and SKY Sports New Zealand Breakers of the NBL will play a total of five preseason games against the Los Angeles Clippers , Utah Jazz, Sacramento Kings, Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies from October 6-17. The San Antonio Spurs recently announced their summer league schedule. It will be fans’ first chance to see draftees Luka Samanic, Keldon Johnson, and Quinndary Weatherspoon on an NBA court. Amongst the team will also be Kenny Williams, who was undrafted out of North Carolina. According to the New York Times’ Marc Stein, the Boston Celtics “refused” to make Jayson Tatum in trade talks with the New Orleans Pelicans. The NBA Finals resumes tonight with Game 3 from Oracle Arena. The talk of the series has shifted to the health, specifically the lack thereof, issue of the Golden State Warriors. D’Antoni ends extension talks with Rockets

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Houston Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni has cut off contract extension talks with the club and will coach out the final season of his deal. D’Antoni signed a four-year deal back in 2016; the upcoming 2019-20 season is a team option. Charlotte Carroll of Sports Illustrated reported recently that D’Antoni relayed to management that he wanted to coach three more years and that he felt “energized.” In his three seasons in Houston, D’Antoni has compiled a regular season record of 173-73.

David Griffin to meet with Anthony Davis
