NASHVILLE – Travis Harper II scored 23 points, but the Tennessee State men’s basketball team fell to the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks 91-82 at home Saturday. The Tigers (7-5, 1-1 OVC) had three players score in double figures, led by Harper II, who knocked down five three-pointers to go along with his 23 points and two steals. Antoine Lorick III added a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, recording his fourth double-double of the season, while Aaron Nkrumah helped out with 15 points and three steals, going a perfect 11-for-12 from the free-throw line. Aaron Nkrumah wins second OVC Player of the Week

For the second time in two weeks, Tennessee State guard was named the Ohio Valley Conference player of the Week.  The senior helped lead TSU to a 3-0 week, averaging 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and a jaw-dropping 5.0 steals.  Against UNC Asheville, Nkrumah dropped 18 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and a school-record 9 steals. He chased that with a 16-point, 6 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists performance in the Tigers’ 98-77 win over Tennessee Wesleyan. Nkrumah capped the week with 17 points, 5 assists, and 3…

Ohio Valley Conference announces 2025-26 Basketball Schedule

The Ohio Valley Conference announced its mens and women’s basketball conference schedule for the 2025-26 season.  Once more, the conference tilt features a 20-game round robin docket amongst the 11 conference members. Each team will play a pair of conference matchups before Christmas; the post-Christmas docket will resume December 30, concluding Saturday, February 28, 2026.  The 2026 Men’s and Women’s OVC Basketball Tournament will take place March 4-7 at Evansville, Indiana’s Ford Center.  Every conference game and home non-conference matchups can be seen on the ESPN family of networks, with…

Tennessee State finished the regular season on a high note with a nearly wire-to-wire 74-69 defeat of Southern Illinois.  Southern Illinois took an early 3-0 lead on Ryan Hall’s three-pointer on the Screaming Eagles and the contest’s opening possession. Overcoming a very slow start and finishing with a 23-8 fourth-quarter barrage, the Tennessee State Lady Tigers were able to overcome a 17-point deficit to defeat Morehead State 72-61 to keep their OVC Tournament hopes alive.  As has been the case numerous times this season, the Lady Tigers stumbled out of the gates, shooting just 3/18 and scoring just 9 points.
