Despite his comments to the affirmative earlier on Friday, a Conor McGregor v Manny Pacquiao match is not set in stone. Representatives for legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao said Friday that he is considering a bout with MMA star Connor McGregor, and that it would be a “tremendous global event.”
Gibbons confirmed the two sides were a “long way” from coming to terms on a fight but that “it is (definitely) one of the fights being considered for the Senator’s return in 2020.”
Pacquiao, 41, has not been in the ring since winning the WBA title when he handed Keith Thurman his first taste of defeat last July. Of course that is not say that Pacquiao has just been sitting on his duff since then, as he is an elected Senator in his native Philippines.
