Travis Steele fined for halftime conduct against Western Michigan

Miami University head basketball coach Travis Steele was fined $2,500 by the Mid-American Conference for his actions during Miami’S game against Western Michigan on Friday the conference announced Tuesday morning. 

At halftime of the Miami/Western Michigan game, Steele, apparently displeased with a call and the explanation given to him by provided by game officials, stormed off the court. A courtside speaker faced Steele’s wrath as he knocked the speaker to the ground. 

The speaker belonged to WMU DJ, “The most incredible DJ Chuck.” DJ Chuck said that Steele called him and apologised on Monday and agreed to reimburse him for the nearly $3,000 worth of damage to the equipment he damaged in his fit of rage. 

Miami University currently sits at 29-0 and 16-0 within MAC play. Miami takes on Toledo on Tuesday at 7 pm.
