Monday afternoon the NBA announced their Players of the Week for games played March 28-April 3.Trae Young was named Eastern Conference Player f he Week and Nikola Jokic Western Conference Player of the Week.
Western Conference POY, Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets
It was another stellar week of play for Nuggets, leading his squad to an 3-1 week and averaged 34.8 points, a whopping 17.3 rebounds and an incredible 8.5 assists. With is play this season, Jokic has firmly entrenched himself in the MVP race, averaging 26.8 points, 13.7 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game. Despite the absence of Jamaal Murray and Michael Porter Jr, Jokic’s play has helped keep Denver in the playoff race and not in the draft lottery.
Eastern Conference POY- Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks
Trae Young led the Atlanta Hawks to a 4-0 week, getting wins over Indiana, Oklahoma City, Cleveland and Brooklyn. Young averaged 30.3 points, 10.8 assists and 3.3 assist over the course of those games. The Hawks currently occupy the eight spot in the East.
