MEAC announces footballers of the Week

Fellow Bison Robert Jones III earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, while Morgan State kicker Sahr Gbundema was named Rookie of the Week. South Carolina State’s Cam Johnson and Kyle Gallegos earned Offensive Lineman and Specialist of the Week honors, respectively. Tennessee State’s CJ Evans named Big South-OVC Special Teams Player of the Week

title image via Tennessee Athletics The Big South-OVC announced its weekly Football honors and Tennessee State return specialist/running back was named Special Teams Player of the Week.  Down 21-0, Evans’ 98-yard kickoff return in the second quarter, which was tied for the 10th longest such play in FCS this season, put Tennessee State on the board for the first time on the evening, trimming the deficit to 21-7.
