DOVER, Del. – Howard University men’s basketball team held off a scrappy Delaware State (DSU) Hornets squad on the road inside Memorial Hall, 69-64, while improving to 4-3 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play.

With the victory, HU moved to 10-10 overall while grabbing consecutive wins for the first time since November 2021.

Graduate sharpshooter Kyle Foster led the way with another impressive shooting performance. The Virginia native finished with 21 points on 50-percent shooting (6-of-12), all from behind the arc.

Graduate big man Randall Brumant produced 13 points, two assists, two steals and a pair of blocks while six-time MEAC Rookie of the Week Elijah Hawkins filled the stat sheet, ending with 11 points seven boards, five dimes and three steals in the win.

For DSU (2-17), they are still in search for their first conference win of the season (0-6). Carter had a game-high 24 points and nine rebounds while Martaz Robinson added 19 points and eight boards in a losing effort. Box Score | Recap


South Carolina State 74, North Carolina Central 68


ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Freshman guard T.J. Madlock tossed in a team-high 20 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead South Carolina State to a 74-68 win over visiting North Carolina Central on Monday at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.

Rahsaan Edwards added 17 points, Edward Oliver-Hampton finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Omar Croskey chipped in 11 in the win. 

The Bulldogs improved to 12-11 overall, 4-3 in the MEAC, while NCCU fell to 10-11 overall, 4-2 in the league.

NCCU was led by Eric Boone with a game-high 28 points and eight rebounds. Box Score | Recap
