BALTIMORE, Md. – Isaiah Burke scored a game-high 28 points to lead four Morgan State players in double figures as the bears outlasted North Carolina Central 78-73 in overtime on Saturday at Hill Field House. Morgan State improved to 7-8 overall and 1-0 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play.
North Carolina Central fell to 7-8, 0-1 MEAC and was led in scoring by Kris Monroe, who finished with 19 points and four rebounds for the Eagles.

Howard 84, Delaware State 64
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Marcus Dockery scored a career-high 19 points and Bryce Harris added 12 to lead Howard University to an 84-64 win over Delaware State University in the MEAC opener at Burr Gymnasium.
A 6-2 sophomore transfer from Maryland, Dockery connected on 7 of 13 from the field, including 5 of 8 from beyond the arc and set the Bison, who had one of their better shooting games on 58 percent (30 of 51), including 11 of 22 from the three-point line.
Dockery’s individual performance aside, Howard was able to cruise to the easy win, using its depth to wear down the Hornets (1-13, 0-1 in the MEAC).
Coppin State 85, South Carolina State 73
BALTIMORE, Md.– Led by Sam Sessoms’ 26 points, four Eagles scored in double figures as the Coppin State men’s basketball team defeated South Carolina State, 85-73, its MEAC opener on Saturday afternoon at PEC Arena. With the win, CSU improves to 6-12 on the year while the Bulldogs fall to 3-14.
Sessoms hit 9-of-16 from the floor with a pair of threes and 6-of-9 from the free throw line to hit at least 20 points for the 12th time this season. Sessoms was credited with four rebounds and four assists while tallying seven steals and two blocks, both of which were career-highs.
Norfolk State 57, Maryland Eastern Shore 46
NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State opened Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) with a 57-46 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday afternoon at Echols Hall.
Joe Bryant, Jr. posted a game-high 15 points to help NSU to improve to 11-5 on the season and 1-0 in the league. For Maryland Eastern Shore (7-8, 0-1 MEAC), Troy Hupstead came off the bench to score a team-leading 10 points.
