Morgan State to take part in MEAC Cross Country Championship

On Saturday, October 29th, the Morgan State University men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete in the 2022 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Cross Country Championships at the Delaware State Outreach & Research Center in Smyrna, Delaware. This year’s championship will be hosted by Delaware State University.
 
The championships will begin at 11a.m. with the men’s 8k race, followed by the women’s 5k race at 12 p.m. All-MEAC individual honors will be based on the top 15 finishers from both races.
 
Norfolk State is the two-time defending MEAC champion for both the men and women, having swept the titles in both 2019 and 2021. There was no championship held in 2020 due to effects from the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
This year’s championship is free and open to the public. The Delaware State Outreach & Research Center is located at 884 Smyrna Leipsic Road, Smyrna, DE 19977.
 
The 2022-2023 athletic season will serve as the 52nd year of the Mid- Athletic Conference (MEAC) intercollegiate competition. This year’s competitors will include Morgan State University, Coppin State University, Delaware State University, Norfolk State University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Howard University, South Carolina State University, and North Carolina Central University.
