The Albany State Golden Rams won their first game of the season after defeating the Lane College Dragons (60-59) in the J F Lane Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon, in Jackson, Tennessee.
The Golden Rams improved to (1-8) overall and (1-2) in the SIAC. The Dragons fell to (1-5) overall and (1-2) in the conference.
Elisa Saffold, the Golden Rams leading scorer, finished with 15 points. Saffold connected on 3/8 three point attempts in the game. Yasmine Fairchild chipped in with 12 points and 7 rebounds. A total of 10 golden rams scored in the game.
Brailyn Tate led the Dragons with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Breonna Carey finished with 12 points for the Dragons.
On Monday, December 4, the Golden Rams will play LeMoyne-Owen in the Bruce Hall Gymnasium at 6:30 pm, in Memphis, Tennessee. The Golden Rams and Magicians last played on December 5, 2022. On that day, the Golden Rams won (52-47).
