Coach of the Year, Kevin Johnson, Southern

In just his second season in Bagon Rouge,Coach Johnson led Southen to a 20-11 overall record and 15-3 mark within the SWAC and earning the Jaguars the SWAC regular season crown. The 20 wins were the first the first time the program had broken that barrier since the 2012-13 season.
Player of the Year Sterling Young, Florida A&M

The Charlotte transfer was named SWAC Player of the Week multiple times on the season as well as garnering Newcomer of the Week honors. The 6-1 guard led the Rattlers in scoring, averaging 17 points per contest, with a season-high 37 coming against Arkansas Pine Bull on January 28.
Defensive Player of the Year, Andre Nunley, Southern

Nunley led the Jaguars, and was 5th in the SWAC, with 1.6 steals per game. The Prairie View transfer had three games with four steals, including a season-high 6 against Bethune-Cookman on January 13.
Newcomer of the Year, Milton Matthews, Florida A&M

The St. Thomas transfer’s 14.7 points per contest was second on the team, only outpaced by Sterling Young’s 17.0 ppg. Matthews, at various points this season, garnered both SWAC
Freshman of the Year Dorian McMillian, Jackson State

The former Mississippi District 8-5A Offensive Player of the Year made an immediate impact with the Tigers. Starting in 27 of the 29 games he appeared in, Macmillan reached double figures, scoring 20 or more three times, including a season-high 23 points against Alabama State on January 11. The two-time SWAC Newcomer of the Week averaged 10.7 points per game, which was 17th in SWAC.
