Stillman College has elevated longtime assistant Harold Ingram Jr. to head coach of its women’s basketball program, the school announced Monday.
Ingram becomes the 12th head coach in program history, taking over for Jamarra Robinson, who departed after one season to pursue an NCAA Division I opportunity.
A familiar face within the program, Ingram brings continuity and deep institutional ties. A former Stillman student-athlete, he has spent the past seven seasons as an assistant coach, playing a key role in one of the most successful stretches in program history.
During his tenure on staff:
- Stillman won 99 games since the 2019–20 season
- The Tigers recorded five straight winning seasons
- Captured an HBCU Athletic Conference championship
- Earned a berth in the 2025 NAIA National Tournament
Ingram expressed both gratitude and urgency following the announcement.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to serve my alma mater… It’s time to get to work and keep the winning tradition alive.”
Athletic director Terrance Whittle pointed to Ingram’s leadership, recruiting ability, and commitment to student-athlete development as key reasons for the hire.
A native of Monticello, Florida, Ingram played collegiately at Stillman from 2013 to 2015 after beginning his career at Chattahoochee Valley Community College. He later transitioned into coaching and campus leadership roles, further cementing his connection to the program.
Why This Hire Matters
This is a culture continuity hire—and those tend to hit differently at the HBCU level.
- Keeps a winning foundation intact
- Maintains recruiting pipelines already in place
- Rewards program loyalty and development
For Stillman, the expectation isn’t a rebuild—it’s sustaining momentum and elevating it.
