The spring of 2027 will see the return of the “All-Star” Nike Kobe IV Protro.
Originally released in 2009, they were on the feet of the late great Kobe Bryant in that season’s All-Star Game, as he scored 27 points and 4 steals, splitting MVP honors with former running mate Shaquille O’Neal ( who had 17 points in just 11 minutes) in the first time the two shared the court as teammates since 2004.
The hope and the expectation is that the folks in Beaverton will roll out a proper Protro that will be a faithful recreation of its 2009 progenitor.
They should sport a varsity and atomic red upper with a gradient forefoot overlay. Red leather shows up at the collar, with red-bordered white Swooshes adorning the lateral and medial sides.
A gold Kobe logo is perched atop the tongue with a stamped “24” present at the rear heel.
A white midsole resides below the aforementioned upper as well as a translucent and solid rubber outsole.
The “All-Star” Nike Kobe IV Protro is anticipated to return during 2027 NBA All-Star Weekend, which is fittingly taking place in Phoenix, in a full circle moment foe this sneaker.
They will carry a 190 USD sticker price.
