Sae’Quahn Rogers named to Albany State men’s basketball coaching staff

Earlier this week Albany State announced that Sae’Quahn Rogers has been added to coach Rodney Mayes’ staff. 

Coach Rogers has a strong background in the areas of player development, recruiting and collegiate coaching experience. 

In his last post, Coach Rogers also erved on Coach Mayes’ staff at Lyons College, where he helped the Scots to an 18-9 overall record and 11-5 within the confines of SLIAC play. That same season, the Scots, as the No.2 seed, advanced to the semis of the SLIAC Tournament. 

Rogers also spent two seasons at Point University, where he coached a Defensive Player of the Year, 3 All-Conference selections and 6 Academic All-Americans.

As a player, Rogers also had a positive impact on winning. He began his collegiate career at Division II Pfeiffer University, where he helped the Falcons to an 26-5 overall record and 17-3 conference mark. He transferred to Point University and wins would follow, as he helped the Skyhawks go from a 6-win club to notching 15 in his final season. He finished his collegiate career with 1,155 points, 646 rebounds, and 205 assists. 

He played two years professionally across the pond, suiting up for two seasons with Italian team Parma Basket Project, averaging 15.7 points and 6 boards, and helping the team reach the postseason.
