A fan’s attempt to create a viral moment during Game 1 of the NBA Finals has resulted in serious consequences.
The NBA confirmed that the individual who ran onto the court during the fourth quarter of the New York Knicks’ 105-95 victory over the San Antonio Spurs has been arrested and banned for life from all NBA arenas. The league also announced that a second individual involved in the incident has received a lifetime ban as well.
The disruption occurred late in Game 1 when the fan bypassed security and made his way onto the floor, reportedly attempting to get close to Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama. Play was briefly halted as arena security quickly intervened and removed the individual from the court.
