Alcorn State’s Eric Thomas Jr., Demetrion Duvall Named to BOXTOROW HBCU Preseason All-America Team

Alcorn State is represented by two Braves on the 2026 BOXTOROW HBCU Preseason All-America Team.

Defensive lineman Eric Thomas Jr. and specialist Demetrion Duvall were recognized Monday as part of the preseason squad, giving Alcorn State additional national recognition heading into the 2026 football season.

Thomas Jr. returns as a key piece of the Braves’ defensive front. The 6-foot-3 defensive lineman appeared in 11 games during the 2025 season and recorded 23 tackles, four tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. (Alabama State University Athletics⁠)

Duvall has also been an important part of Alcorn State’s special teams unit. The Braves’ 2025 game materials list him as a punter and note that he was part of the team’s punting rotation. (Hail State⁠)

The BOXTOROW preseason recognition adds to the growing list of preseason honors for Alcorn State players as the Braves prepare for another season in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

With Thomas Jr. anchoring the defensive line and Duvall contributing on special teams, both players will enter the season with expectations to deliver impactful performances for the Braves.
