BALTIMORE, Md. — Morgan State men’s basketball is set for a challenging start to the 2026-27 season.
The Bears have officially announced a 15-game non-conference schedule that includes six home games at Hill Field House, the inaugural 410 Invitational, and marquee road matchups against Maryland and Auburn. (Morgan State University Athletics)
Head coach Kevin Broadus, the reigning MEAC Coach of the Year, will lead Morgan State into a schedule designed to test the Bears early and prepare them for Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play.
Morgan State opens the season at home on Monday, Nov. 2, against Cheyney University, followed by another home contest against Virginia University of Lynchburg on Nov. 4.
The Bears will then begin a four-game road stretch, starting with Niagara on Nov. 7.
Morgan State to Compete in Inaugural 410 Invitational
One of the highlights of the schedule is Morgan State’s participation in the inaugural 410 Invitational, powered by Under Armour.

Morgan State will travel to UMBC on Nov. 12, with the Bears scheduled to play again on Nov. 14 in either the championship or consolation game.
The Bears will then face North Carolina A&T on Nov. 18 before returning home for a four-game homestand.
Challenging December Slate
Morgan State’s December schedule ramps up considerably.
After home games against Manhattan and Mercyhurst, the Bears will hit the road for the remainder of their non-conference slate.
Morgan State will visit George Mason on Dec. 8, followed by a highly anticipated trip to College Park to face Maryland.
The matchup with Maryland carries some history for the Bears. Morgan State’s last victory over the Terrapins came on Jan. 7, 2008, when the Bears stunned Maryland, 66-65, behind 25 points from Reggie Holmes. (Morgan State University Athletics)
Morgan State will then travel to Longwood on Dec. 22 before closing out the 2026 calendar year against Auburn on Dec. 29 at Neville Arena.
The Auburn matchup will mark the first meeting between Morgan State and Auburn.
A New-Look Morgan State Team
The Bears enter the season looking to replace significant production from last year’s roster.
All-MEAC performers Alfred Worrell Jr. and Elijah Davis graduated after combining for a major portion of Morgan State’s offensive production. Worrell averaged 17.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, while Davis averaged 13.8 points, 5.9 assists and 3.3 rebounds per contest. (Morgan State University Athletics)
Broadus will rely on returning players and newcomers as Morgan State navigates one of its more challenging non-conference schedules in recent seasons.
