“Laney”Air Jordan 5 Returns in 2027 With OG-Inspired Details

The “Laney” Air Jordan 5 is set to return on May 15, 2027, in full-family sizing under style code DD0587-106. Inspired by Michael Jordan’s high school, Emsley A. Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina, the white, blue and yellow colorway is expected to feature blue heel Jumpman logos and an updated OG-style “23” font.

The shoe will use a White/Varsity Maize/Varsity Royal/Black color scheme, with a white leather upper and blue and yellow accents across the tongue, branding and midsole.

Originally released in 2000, the “Laney” Air Jordan 5 received its first retro in 2013. Jordan Brand later introduced a blue-based version in 2019, but the original white-based colorway remains the most popular.

The reported retail price is $215, though pricing and launch details could change before release.

The 2027 release gives fans who missed the 2013 retro another chance to own one of the most recognizable non-original Air Jordan 5 colorways. The blue heel Jumpman logos and OG-style “23” detailing could make it one of the year’s most anticipated Jordan 5 releases.
