Jordan Brand is giving one of its most iconic silhouettes a rugged makeover.
The “Utility” Air Jordan 3 OG is currently expected to release on January 16, 2027, according to sneaker insider zSneakerHeadz.
The upcoming model, which carries the style code IX0198-001, is expected to feature a Black/Fire Red color scheme and introduce utility-focused modifications to the classic Air Jordan 3 design.
Early mockups show the familiar Air Jordan 3 construction receiving several functional updates, including a heel pull tab, a toggle-style lace system, and modified materials designed to make the shoe more suitable for everyday and outdoor wear. Reflective detailing on the elephant-print overlays has also been reported.
The Utility Air Jordan 3 represents a notable evolution of Tinker Hatfield’s original 1988 silhouette. Rather than simply introducing a new colorway, Jordan Brand appears to be adapting the classic model with practical features while retaining its recognizable DNA.
The release is expected to be available through Nike/Jordan and select retailers, with men’s pairs previously reported at a potential $215 retail price, although pricing and other release details remain subject to change.
While January 16 is currently the latest reported date, sneaker release information this far in advance can change. Jordan Brand has yet to officially confirm the release.
