Netflix is making another major move into sports and podcast programming.
The streaming giant has announced a multi-year partnership with The Pivot, the award-winning sports and culture podcast hosted by former NFL stars Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor.
Beginning Sept. 8, new video episodes of The Pivot will stream exclusively on Netflix every Tuesday and Friday. The show’s existing library will also be made available on Netflix while continuing to remain on YouTube.
Since launching in 2022, The Pivot has grown into one of the most prominent athlete-led interview platforms in sports media. The show has produced more than 500 episodes and generated nearly 1 billion views across YouTube and social platforms.
The agreement also extends beyond The Pivot. Netflix will receive first-negotiation rights on new projects produced by Pivot25 Productions, the company co-founded by Clark and Alicia Zubikowski. Pivot25 will also produce bonus episodes exclusively for Netflix.
For Clark, the partnership represents a significant next chapter following his departure from ESPN earlier this summer. It also gives the Pivot team an opportunity to expand its reach while building Pivot25 into a broader media company spanning sports, entertainment and culture.
Clark celebrated the move by emphasizing the show’s continued growth and the audience that helped build it.
“Passion over platform, and people over perception,” Clark said. “I’m grateful and excited to take The Pivot to Netflix. This is the beginning of a beautiful new chapter. The story is far from finished.”
The deal is also another indication of Netflix’s growing interest in video podcasts and sports-focused programming as the streaming service continues adding established voices and shows to its platform.
For The Pivot, the formula is especially interesting: Netflix gets exclusive access to new episodes, while the show’s massive YouTube presence remains in place.
The next chapter officially begins Sept. 8.
