One of the most iconic Air Jordan 4 colorways could be making its return.
The Air Jordan 4 OG “Fire Red” is currently expected to return during Fall 2027, according to sneaker insiders @zSneakerHeadz and SneakerFiles.
The upcoming retro is reportedly being positioned as an even more faithful recreation of the original 1989 release, with Jordan Brand expected to make several notable updates to the classic silhouette.
Among the reported changes:
- Closer-to-OG shape
- More accurate OG-style toe box
- Updated mesh/netting
- Improved cushioning
- A stronger overall emphasis on recreating the original feel and appearance
The “Fire Red” Air Jordan 4 is one of the four original colorways of the silhouette, which debuted in 1989. The colorway features a predominantly white upper with black detailing and Fire Red accents.
The most recent major retro release came in 2020, when the “Fire Red” returned with Nike Air branding on the heel.
If the current information holds, the Fall 2027 return could give sneakerheads another chance at one of the most recognizable Air Jordan 4s ever made—this time with Jordan Brand reportedly pushing the construction even closer to the OG.
