The Clark Atlanta University community is mourning the loss of 21-year-old Morgan Gamble, a senior whose passion for media production, leadership and storytelling was cut short in a fatal Atlanta crash.
According to Atlanta police, Gamble died after a vehicle driven by Nikolai Dunford struck her car around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, at the intersection of Hank Aaron Drive and Glen Street in southeast Atlanta.
Investigators reportedly downloaded the vehicle’s event data recorder, which showed Dunford was traveling 94.4 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to a police warrant cited by WSB-TV.
Gamble was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Dunford was arrested and faces charges of speeding, reckless driving and first-degree vehicular homicide. The investigation remains ongoing, and the charges are allegations.
A Promising Life and Career
Gamble was a senior in Clark Atlanta’s Mass Media Arts program with aspirations of becoming a producer. Her family said she had already begun pursuing those ambitions through short films, documentaries and other creative projects.
She also worked as a student production assistant on Netflix’s reboot of A Different World and made an appearance in the series’ first episode, according to her family.
Gamble was also recognized for her campus involvement, including being crowned Miss Omega Psi Phi for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Her mother, Brandi Gamble, described her daughter as someone who knew what she wanted to accomplish from an early age and actively pursued her dreams.
Her family is now left grieving a young woman they say was a leader, a creative force and a light to those around her.
