BREAKING: Grizzlies Reportedly Exploring Trades for GG Jackson II and Walter Clayton Jr.

The Memphis Grizzlies could be making some unexpected moves before the start of the 2026-27 NBA season. đź‘€

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, Memphis has reportedly been exploring the trade market for young forward GG Jackson II and guard Walter Clayton Jr.

“I’m told, however, that the Grizzlies have been exploring potential trade markets for GG Jackson II and Walter Clayton Jr. Which is quite a turn from Memphis’ original stance on Clayton.”

The reported shift is particularly notable for Clayton, whom Memphis reportedly valued highly during negotiations involving the Utah Jazz earlier this year.

The Grizzlies are also facing roster decisions ahead of the October 19 deadline to trim their standard roster to 15 players, adding urgency to the situation.

However, there is conflicting reporting regarding Jackson. Memphis Commercial Appeal reporter Damichael Cole pushed back on the notion that the team is actively discussing trades involving Jackson, while Fischer’s report indicates that the Grizzlies have explored the market for both players.

No trade has been confirmed.

What do you think Memphis should do? Should the Grizzlies trade GG Jackson II and Walter Clayton Jr., or give both young players more time to develop?
