Alabama A&M decimates Talladega College, 103-32

The Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs jumped on Talladega early, essentially turning the game’s final three quarters into protracted garbage time as they laid a 103-32 donkey kicking on the Tornadoes.

Talladega took an early 1-0 lead on a Kiersten Usher free throw at the 9:44 mark of the opening quarter. By the time they scored their next points, 7 minutes and 31 seconds later, they were down 25-2. Alabama A&M took a 31-4 lead into the second period. Talladega did not convert a single field goal attempt in the period, shooting 0-14 from the floor.

The Tornadoes would not crack double figures until Courtney Lowe connected from downtown to make the score 43-10 with 4:33 left in the half. The Lady Bulldogs took a 54-16 lead into halftime.

The beating continued in the third quarter, with AAMU outscoring Talladega 24-9 in the frame and building its advantage to 78-25 as the game mercifully entered the fourth quarter. Alabama A&M would once again hold the Tornadoes to another single-digit quarter; Talladega scored under 10 points in 3 of the 4 periods, on their way to the 71-point annihilation.

All but one Lady Bulldogs player found their way into the scoring column, with four players in double figures- Kalyn Ervin had a team-high 14 points, Moses Davenport added 12, while Aniyah Palmer and Coriah Beck each chipped in with 10 points.

Talladega, who shot a frigid 13.2% (7-53) from the floor, did not have a single player in double figures. Ceara Myers led the Tornadoes with 9 points.

Up next for the Lady Bulldogs is hosting Ole Miss of the SEC Friday night; tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm CST.
