Albany State advances to SIAC Semis

The Albany State women’s basketball team defeated tthe Dragons of Lane College 68-57 to advance to the semi-finals of the SIAC women’s basketball tournament

Kashay Hankerson led the Golden Rams with 23 points in 24 minutes off the bench.  Starting point guard Kayla Milner contributed with 16 points, 2 assist and 2 steals.
 
In the Semi-Finals, the Golden Rams will face a Savannah State Tigers team that beat them twice during the regular season.  On January 29, the Tigers defeated the Golden Rams 72-54.  On February 7, the Tigers beat the Golden Rams 59-51.
 
“We must do 3 things in order to beat Savannah State.  We need to protect the basketball and limit our turnovers, make shots and rebound the basketball if we want to advance to the SIAC Championship,” according to Coach Robert Skinner.
 
Albany State and Savannah State will tip-off at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 4, in Rock Hill, SC.
