Albany State seeks to keep winning going in doubleheader against Savannah State Monday

After sweeping Edward Waters University, the Albany State women and men’s basketball teams will be seeking to extend their winning streak when they play the Savannah State University Tigers on Monday, January 9, in Savannah, Georgia.  The women will play at 5:30 pm and the men will follow at approximately 7:30 pm.

The Golden Rams women’s team is (6-8) overall and (4-4) in the SIAC.  The Golden Rams are on a 2-game winning streak in conference play.  The Golden Rams are (2-4) on the road.

The Tigers women’s team is (10-3) overall and (6-2) in the SIAC.  The Tigers are (4-1) at home.

The Golden Rams and Tigers women last played on March 4, 2022.  The Tigers won (73-59).

As a team, the Golden Rams are averaging 57.9 points while allowing 64.6 points per game.  The Golden Rams are shooting 37.4% from the field, 24.6% from the 3-point line and 59.6% from the free throw line.

Kashay Hankerson is averaging 12.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game to lead the Golden Rams.  Juanisha Black is averaging 8.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.

The Golden Rams men’s team is (3-11) overall and (3-5) in the SIAC.  The Golden Rams are (3-3) on the road. 

The Tigers men’s team is (8-4) overall and (6-2) in the SIAC.  The Tigers are a perfect (6-0) at home.      

The Golden Rams and Tigers men last played on February 21, 2022.  The Tigers won (64-63).   

As a team, the Golden Rams are averaging 63.6 points while allowing 72.0 points per game.  The Golden Rams are shooting 38.8% from the field, 33.5% from the 3-point line and 68.5% from the free throw line.

Malik Parker is averaging 11.3 points and 2.7 rebounds for the Golden Rams.  Maurice Dickson is averaging 11.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
