Albany State splits double header with Fort Valley

After leading 44-43 at the end of the 3rdquarter, the Golden Rams exploded in the 4thquarter to escape Fort Valley with a 65-55 win over the Wildcats.  The Golden Rams have now won 5 out of their last 6 games.
 
The Golden Rams only shot 33.3% from the field and 28% from the 3-point line in the game.  But, the Golden Rams pressure defense forced the Wildcats into committing 24 turnovers.
 
The Golden Rams recipe to success continued today as their scored 30 points in the paint and 42 points off the bench.
 
Kashay Hankerson once again led the charge as she scored 15 points off of the Golden Rams bench.  Brielle Johnson scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds off the bench.  Juanisha Black scored 10 points off the bench and collected 7 rebounds.  Kennedy Hortonwas the only starter to score in double figures as she finished with 10 points.
 
Torri Myers led the Wildcats with 14 points and 6 rebounds.  Amiya Allen contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds.
 
In the men’s game, the Golden Rams lost 67-63 to the Wildcats.  The Wildcats largest lead was 4 points which came with 1:26 remaining in the game.
 
The Golden Rams shot 46.8% from the field but only connected on (4-18 three-point attempts).
 
Malik Parker led the Golden Rams with 18 points and 5 rebounds.  Jordan Simpsonfinished with 16 points and 9 rebounds.  Kendan Maddox contributed with 10 points.
 
KJ Doucet led the Wildcats with 23 points and 7 rebounds.  Ty’Reek Johnson contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds.
