Albany State women’s hoops boat raced by Tuskegee, 85-40

Early in the season, Albany State scored a surprising 68-60 win over Tuskegee and it appears they had not forgotten about that set back as they laid an 85-40 beat down on the Golden Rams Monday night.

After taking a 9-6 lead on Brittney Bolin’s three-pointer with 6:45 remaining in the quarter, The Golden Tigers  out scored the Rams 22-6 over the balance of the period, taking a 31-12 lead at the end of the frame. it did not get much better for Albany State in the second quarter falling behind by as much as twenty-eight points at 51-23 following another Bolin bomb from downtown with 0:38 left in the half. Albany State would ultimately and the half in a twenty-six point hole after Chelsea Hill’s jumper with 0:03 left in the quarter.

The second half was largely garbage time , with Albany State never drawing closer than 20 points and only scoring is points in the second half.

Albany State misfired all evening, shooting just 25% (14-56) from the floor, a frigid 7.1% from downtown. Chelsea Hill was the team’s leading scorer with 7 points, and no Golden Rams player shot better than 42% from the field.

Tuskegee was lead by Ashiala Jackson who shot 12-18 for 30 points and also grabbed 14 rebounds. Brittney Bolin was in fire from downtown, connecting on 5-6 from distance and 9-16 overall from the floor in scoring 23 points. JuToreyia Willis chipped in with 10 points.

Albany State, now 3-3, 1-1 SIAC will look to bounce back when they just the dragons of Lane College Saturday, December 3; tip off is scheduled at 4 pm EST.
