Allen University’s Beau Harrington and Terrance Harrington named to All-SIAC Preseason Team

Among the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Preseason All-SIAC selections, senior running back Beau Herrington and senior offensive lineman Terrence Jarrett each were named to the Preseason All-SIAC Second Team Tuesday morning. Additionally, Allen was voted 11th in the SIAC’s predicted order of finish for the 2024 season. 

Herrington, who is entering his fourth season as the primary running back for the Yellow Jackets, is coming-off a 2023 campaign that saw him lead Allen with 640 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns on 147 rushing attempts. Herrington also caught 29 passes for 404 yards and two additional scores. For his efforts last season, Herrington was named to the All-SIAC postseason second team at running back. Throughout his collegiate career at Allen, the Haines City, Florida native has rushed for 1,968 yards and 20 touchdowns, while also catching 91 passes for 922 yards and seven receiving touchdowns. Entering the 2024 season, Herrington holds Allen’s NCAA era (since 2021) record for all-purpose yardage (3,005). 

Jarrett is set to return for his senior season at Allen and brings back with him consecutive seasons with starts at right tackle, including starting all 10 games in 2023 at the position. The Savannah, Georgia native helped lead a Yellow Jackets’ offensive line that opened lanes for 1,327 rushing yards and provided protection for 3,222 passing yards to go along with 24 total touchdowns for the team. 

No stranger to exceeding expectations, Allen was also projected to finish 11th in the SIAC in the preaseason predicted order of finish in 2023, and concluding the season with a sixth place finish at a (7-3) overall mark.. Allen was one of two SIAC teams to see a five team differential from their preseason placement to postseason finish in 2023.
