After entering the transfer portal last month, HBCU National Player of the Year Andrew Body is withdrawing from the transfer portal and will be returning to Alabama State.
Hornets head coach Wddie Robinson Jr seemed to have let the proverbial cat, er hornet, out of the bag that Body was remaining in Montgomery.
Body, the 2025 SWAC Offensive Player of the Year, caused considerable buzz when he announced on December 16 that he was entering the transfer portal.
Considering his evident and prodigious talent, numerous schools from the FCS and FBS levels and Notre Dame inquired about obtaining Mr. Body’s services.
Body completed 135 of 192 passes for 2,112 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions in helping to lead Alabama State to a 10-2 record and potentially within a yard of the SWAC Championship Game. He also rushed for 708 yards and 4 touchdowns on 85 carries and led the SWAC in both rushing yards (88.5) and passing yards per game (264.0).
