Portland Trail Blazers center Zach Collins sustained a grade 2 ankle sprain which tore a ligament. It was first reported by NBC Sports Northwest that Collins suffered the injury during a workout a few weeks ago, something that was just confirmed by the Blazer this week.
Fortunately the injury does not require surgery and Collins is expected to be ready to go for training camp.
After Josef Nurkic went down with a broken leg late in the season , Collins played well in the playoffs and showed some flashes of potential that led to him being taken 10th overall in 2017.
