The Golden State Warriors are investing in their future, and Brandin Podziemski is getting a major payday.
Podziemski has agreed to a five-year, $110 million contract extension with Golden State, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The deal is fully guaranteed and includes a mutual option for the fifth season (2031–32) and a trade kicker.
ESPN’s Anthony Slater shared the reported year-by-year salary structure, giving fans a closer look at how the deal is set up.
Brandin Podziemski’s Contract Breakdown
| Season | Salary |
| Year 1 | $18.9 million |
| Year 2 | $20.4 million |
| Year 3 | $22 million |
| Year 4 | $23.5 million |
| Year 5 | $25 million mutual option |
| Total | $109.8 million |
The reported figures total $109.8 million, which rounds to the announced $110 million value. The first-year salary is approximately $1.9 million above his cap hold.
At 23, Podziemski is positioned to remain part of Golden State’s plans beyond the team’s current championship window. The Warriors selected him 19th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, and he has developed into a regular contributor in their backcourt.
During the 2025–26 season, Podziemski averaged career highs of 13.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while appearing in all 82 regular-season games. He also averaged 3.7 assists and shot 37.1% from three-point range. Source
The contract gives Podziemski significant financial security while committing Golden State to a young guard the franchise hopes will continue to develop.
But the question for Warriors fans is whether his production will justify an average annual value of approximately $22 million.
Was this the right move for Golden State, or are the Warriors paying too much?
