Former Norfolk State women’s assistant coach named AD at Jackson State CC(TN)

Former Norfolk State assistant basketball coach Dr. Kelvin Lynum is taking on a new role as he was named the athletic director at Jackson State Community College (TN.)  Dr. Lynum spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach on Larry Vickers’s staff where his contributions helped the program compile a 53-13 overall record, 24-4 within the MEAC, winning back-to-back conference tournaments and NCAA appearances.  Before his time at NSU, he was the athletic director at Southeast High School in Bradenton, FL from 2020-22. The career of Angel Jackson will continue across the pond.  Former Jackson State center signed a contract with Italian team Faenza Women’s Basketball. Faenza competes in Serie A, Lega Basket Femminile, which is Italy’s premier women’s basketball league.   Faenza ended the 2023-24 campaign with a 6-21 record.  Jackson started her collegiates career at USC before transferring to Jackson State for her final two amateur seasons. Class of 2026 guard Mason Williams, the son of Jackson State head basketball coach Mo Willians has an official offer from Jackson State.  The younger Willians, a 6’1” guard out of Jackson Academy (MS) in his sophomore season averaged 9.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.6 steals in 21.0 minutes per contest.
