Future Albany State Basketball player killed in Christmas Eve Shooing

The family and friends of Sekya Smith are dismayed and looking for answers after a tragic shooting on Christmas Eve. According to Atlanta police, 18-year-old Sakya Smith was killed when someone started shooting at her friend’s home, located on the 1100 block of Smith Street in Southwest Atlanta.  Smith, a basketball standout at Carver High School was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital where, sadly, doctors pronounced her deceased.  Smith planned on attending Albany State University and majoring in criminal justice.  Police have been tight-lipped on the incident, not offering details…

Hampton’s Daniel Johnson named CAA Rookie of the Week
