Initially I was down on the aesthetic of the AE 2, however after seeing the images of the royal colorway my stance on the silhouette started to soften. Although I’m not sure about the performance capabilities as compared to its predecessor, however from an aesthetic standpoint, the AE2 is a step back. It sports a black TPU upper with only the red AE logo on the tongue offering the only bit of visual variety from the otherwise monochromatic appearance. Adidas officially introduced the world to the newest signature of, for the time being, Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell, the D.O.N. Issue 6. Each of the four depicted colorways sport textile and mesh uppers with Three Stripes branding on the sides along with reflective detailing at the forefoot.
