Making A Difference: Nike produces PPE in fight against COVID-19

Teams from Nike’s innovation, manufacturing and product have been working with health care pros from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) to produce Product Protective Equipment in the form of full-face shields and powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) lenses to provide to health care workers. Nike has taken materials-footwear collar padding, apparel threads and TPU from air units- used in its footwear and repurposed them to be used in PPE. We recently gave a sneak peak of the Air Command Force inspired colorway of the LeBron 17 and now images of the shoe have emerged that show more than a close up of the tongue. The sneaker features a white Knitposite upper with multi colored hues woven into the weave. Command force inspired LeBron logo on the tongue to go along with a “FORCE” logo on the lateral side of the inner collar. Sunday Nike announcecd that it is closing all of its domestic stores and locations in other countries in an attempt to halt the spread of the coronavirus.
