In a shocking turn of events, Kenny Atkinson is no longer the Brooklyn Nets head coach. Nets’ GM Sean Marks had this to say in a statement: After discussions with Kenny about the progress of the season, we mutually agreed that a coaching change would be in the best interest of the team. This was an extremely difficult decision, however the organization believes it is one that is necessary at this time. The Chicago Bulls announces that Lauri Markkanen will play Tuesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Markkanen has been out a month with a pelvic stress reaction. No word if Markkanen will be on any sorts of minutes restriction but with Bulls head coach Jim Boylan’s mystifying rotations, that may not prove to be a factor. It has been largely a disappointing season for the Bulls, but particularly Markkanen. He was expected to make a major leap from his second season, but he got off to a slow start this season…
