According to David Aldridge of The Athletic, the Memphis Grizzlies are waving guard Avery Bradley. There will likely be a robust market for Bradley’s services as Marc Stein of the New York Times said there will be “immediate interest” for the 28-year old. The Washington Wizards have trded center Dwight Howard to the Memphis Grizzlies for C.J. Miles in a move that will save Memphis $3.1 million. For Howard it seems his fall from grace continues as the former all-star, and multiple time defensive player of the year and rebounding champ played only 9 games this seasons and will now find himself on at least his 5th different team in the past five seasons. According to the New York Times’ Marc Stein, the Denver Nuggets will be amongst several teams interested in the Memphis Grizzlies’ recently acquired forward Andre Iguodala. Iguodala had to be moved in wake of Kevin Durant’s departure that ultimately ended being a sign-and-trade that brought D’Angelo Russell to the former champs. The previous two years have seen NBL teams play NBA teams in the preseason and it will continue next season. The NBA and NBL made the announcement recently. The Adelaide 36ers,Melbourne United, and SKY Sports New Zealand Breakers of the NBL will play a total of five preseason games against the Los Angeles Clippers , Utah Jazz, Sacramento Kings, Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies from October 6-17. The Miami Heat have sent center Hassan Whiteside to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Maurice Harkless and Meyers Leonard. Whiteside, who averaged 12.3 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, can provide a defensive presence in the middle that can help to erase mistakes made on the perimeter. For Miami, Leonard can provide shooting from the center position, while Harkless’ length and athleticism on the perimeter can help defensively and he can also be a respectable three point shooter.
