Warriors and Klay Thompson at odds over Game 3, status still unclear

Klay Thompson’s status for the pivotal Game tonight is still uncertain but the team would rather him sit out tonight’s proceedings. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne , the Warriors officials would prefer if the All-Star guard would not play in Game 3 and rest the hamstring strain that cut his Game 2 short. Boylen adds rockets assistant to staff

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Chicago Bulls have hired former Houston Rockets assistant coach Roy Rogers to join Jim Boylen’s staff. Rogers had spent the three previous seasons on Mike D’Antoni’s staff prior to being the second of four staff members who were informed they would not be brought back for the upcoming season. Rogers coaching resume also includes time with the Nets (2013-14 and Washington Wizards, (2014-16) as assistant coaches.

Warriors get vital ( and costly) 109-104 win in Game 2 of NBA Finals

DeMarcus Cousins will start Game 2 of the NBA Finals in place of Jordan Bell. Cousins made his return to the lineup in Game 1 after being sidelined since the first round against the Clippers with a torn quadriceps muscles. In his 8 minutes of action, Cousins had 3 points and 2 assists but will need to be more impactful to help Golden State even up the Finals.

OG Anunoby listed as active for Game 2

Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby will be active for the first time in the playoffs. The forward has been out since the last game of the season on April 12 due to an emergency appendectomy.  His return could add even more teeth to a defense that seemed, at times ,to cause the Warriors some issues. In his 67 appearances over the course of the regular season, the second year small forward averaged 7.0 points, 2.9 rebounds 0.7 rebounds and 0.7 steals in 20.2 minutes per contest.

When Andre Iguodala came up lame late in game 1, there was serious concern that this was a serious injury. As it was a non-contact incident, the worst was thought. Iguodala finished the game and minimized the severity of the injury saying “I’ll be fine,” after the game, as reported by the Mercury News’ Mark Medina.
