Dalton Knect had an eventful rookie campaign with the Los Angeles Lakers. Knecht got an up close and personal view of the LeBron/Klutch Sports and was even part of midseason trade with the Charlotte Hornets centered around Hornets big man Mark Williams that rescinded, forcing an awkward return to the Lakers.
After a 50–32 season under podcaster-turned-first-year head coach JJ Redick, the No. 3 seed Lakers were sent packing in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs 4-1 at the hands of the No. 6 Minnesota Timberwolves. Like his famous teammate LeBron James, who said he didn’t lose any sleep over the loss, the University of Tennessee product also decided to party to wash out the nasty aftertaste of the embarrassing playoff defeat.
Knecht returned to his old collegiate stomping grounds of Knoxville, Tennessee, and partying on the stage of Lunaverse Knoxville, a 10,000 sq foot entertainment space.
The 24-year-old rookie also engaged in some youthful hijinks at the campus KD fraternity house.
Knecht appeared in 78 games, with 16 starts, and averaged 9.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.8 assists.
