Bethune-Cookman 68, Palm Beach Atlantic 45

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — 
Tatum Hayes scored 18 points and Daniella Hatcher 13 as Bethune-Cookman scored the first 16 points en route to a 68-45 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic Saturday in Historic Moore Gym.

Hayes, a freshman, was 6-for-10 from 3-point range as the Wildcats (6-1) posted their best start after seven games since the 1985-86 team also started 6-1.

Ashlie Howell added nine points and six rebounds, while Amaya Scott and Amani Ball scored six points each. Eleven Lady Wildcats scored. Ashanti Hunt nearly pulled off a double-double without scoring  — posting nine rebounds and matching a career-high with nine assists.

Delaware State 89, Saint Peter’s 66

DOVER, Del. — 
Delaware State snapped its four-game losing streak with an 89-66 blowout victory vs. the Saint Peter’s Peacocks on Saturday in Memorial Hall. The Lady Hornets never trailed in the contest.

89 points is the most Delaware State has scored vs. a non-conference Division I team, since the Hornets ‘ 90-83 win over George Mason on Dec. 4, 2013.

This is also Delaware State’s first time having two wins vs. non-conference Div. I teams since the 2015-16 season.

Hornets guard Sharajah Collins finished with a game high 25 points (including nine points in the first quarter), four rebounds, three assists and two steals.Recap | Box Score


Howard 64, Fairleigh Dickinson 56

WASHINGTON, D.C. — 
Howard took down Fairleigh Dickinson 64-56 in its return to The Burr on Saturday. With the victory, the Bison improved to 5-4 on the season.

Howard led start to finish while holding FDU to only 33 percent (21-for-63) from the floor.

Four Bison reached double figures, led by senior guard Ayonna Williams with a game-high 17 points on 9-for-10 shooting from the charity stripe.

Norfolk State 77, Hampton 56

HAMPTON, Va. — 
A second-quarter surge carried Norfolk State over Hampton in the 97th Battle of the Bay, defeating the Pirates 77-56 at the HU Convocation Center. It was the largest win against Hampton in the Spartans’ Division I history, and the largest since an 89-51 victory in the 1994-95 season.

The Spartans had a balanced attacked with four players score in double-figures. Chanette Hicks paced the Spartans once again with 22 points, eight assists, five rebounds and four steals. Blaire Thomas had 19 points and seven steals, while La’Deja James finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Armani Franklin made her first start of the season, finishing with 11 points, four assists and three steals.

As a team, the Spartans dominated in the paint, outscoring the Pirates 40-22. The Spartans held the advantage with 30 points off turnovers compared to the Pirates’ 19, and 18 fast-break points compared to Hampton’s six. Norfolk State’s bench outscored the Pirates 10-4.

No. 24 South Dakota 82, Coppin State 44

VERMILLION, S.D. — 
Coppin State’s Aliyah Lawson scored a game-high 14 points in an 82-44 loss at 24th-ranked South Dakota on Saturday afternoon at Sanford Coyote Sports Complex. Alexandria Hamilton added 10 points while Tyree Allen chipped in with eight.
