Former Jordan Brand design director Jason Mayden is behind a new children’s footwear brand, Super Heroic. The aim of the brand is to promote and exhale the power of play.
“So many times we go out and encourage kids to dream big, but then we don’t give them the tools to do it. I want Super Heroic to be a tool kit that empowers children to become whatever they want to be. The core [mission] of Super Heroic is pretty simple: to encourage, enable and enhance pure physical play for every child in the world.” – Jayson Mayden
Their first model, the TMBLR v1 was just rolled out and is a sneaker designed for the playground. This sneaker features a blue laceless upper; an adjustable strap that traverses the vamp. The white midsole showcases additional tractional elements along its sides to provide better grip while climbing.
Mayden also had this to say about the TMBLR v1 : “It’s high-quality, high-performing, well-designed product. And it’s fun — everything we do has to be fun, from our logo to our colors to our packaging.”
The packaging that Mr. Mayden referenced is a shuttle-inspired tube and also includes a superhero cape.
The TMBLR v1 is available currently for preorder on the brand’s website for $99 and has an August 31 anticipated ship date.
