Falcons Make History: Bijan Robinson Agrees to Record-Breaking $75 Million Extension

The Atlanta Falcons have locked up one of the NFL’s brightest young stars for the foreseeable future.

According to reports from Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, the Falcons and running back Bijan Robinson have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth up to $75 million, including $51 million guaranteed. The deal makes Robinson the highest-paid running back in NFL history.

Robinson has quickly established himself as one of the league’s premier offensive weapons since being selected eighth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. His elite vision, explosive playmaking ability, and versatility as both a runner and receiver have made him the centerpiece of Atlanta’s offense.

Robinson ran for 1,478 yards and 7 touchdowns , while also becoming even more prevalent in the Falcons’ receiving game as he hauled in 79 passes for 820 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Robinson has seen his production increase every year of his career , with the third year back seeing highs in yards, (1,478), yards per carry (5.2), yards per game (86.9), receptions (79), yards per catch (10.4) and receiving yards per game (48.2).

The record-setting extension reflects a growing belief within the Falcons organization that Robinson is a franchise cornerstone capable of carrying the offense for years to come.

Running back contracts have become increasingly scrutinized in recent seasons, but Robinson’s new deal signals that truly elite talent at the position can still command historic money.

With training camp underway, Atlanta now enters the season knowing its offensive star is under contract long-term as expectations continue to rise for a Falcons team looking to contend in the NFC.
