DOUBLE OHHH-VERTIME
Madison Durr (40 pts., 19-19 FT) and Abdi Bashir Jr. (32 pts.) led Monmouth past Drexel, 104-97, in double OT. Durr’s 40-point outing was just the eighth in program history. He also went 19-for-19 from the line, the most without a miss by a Division I player in a game this season and a new CAA record, surpassing W&M’s Mit Winter’s 17-for-17 mark on Jan. 24, 2001, against James Madison. Durr became the 26th player in NCAA history with 19+ FT made without a miss.
Durr and Bashir became the first CAA teammates to score 30+ points in the same game since Delaware’s Nate Darling and Kevin Anderson on Nov. 11, 2019, against UT-San Antonio.
ROARIN’ TIGERS
The Tigers hold the longest active winning streak in the CAA with eight straight wins in league play since Jan. 9. Towson is on its longest winning streak since rattling off seven consecutive victories from Jan. 4 through Jan. 30, 2020. The league’s preseason favorite is also off to its best 10-game start in CAA action in program history with a 9-1 mark.
The Tigers are one of 11 Div. I teams on an active winning streak of eight games or better. Dylan Williamson (16.6 ppg), Tyler Tejada (15.8 ppg) and Nendah Tarke (13.9 ppg) have scored 63.8% of the team’s points during the winning streak.
DING DING DING, WE HAVE A WINNER
UNCW has won six straight games since Jan. 11. Donovan Newby (14.5 ppg), Bo Montgomery (14.0 ppg), Khamari McGriff (12.3 ppg) and Sean Moore (10.2 ppg) lead six players averaging seven-plus points per game. The Seahawks have scored 80+ points in six consecutive contests, marking the first time since they rattled off seven straight games from Nov. 27 through Dec. 20, 2016.
Campbell is also riding a five-game winning streak following a 75-52 win over Hofstra. The Camels secured a 41-point victory over William & Mary, the largest margin of victory by a CAA team in league play since 2019. The Camels have outscored their opponents by 22.8 points per game over the stretch. Four players – Colby Duggan (17.8 ppg), Nolan Dorsey (13.4 ppg), Caleb Zurliene (11.0 ppg) and Jasin Sinani (10.6 ppg) – are averaging in double figures.
THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
Two teams – Towson (5-0) and William & Mary (4-0) – are undefeated in conference play at home. The Tribe continues to ride a hot hand inside Kaplan Arena, posting a perfect 9-0 record this season. Outscoring the opposition by a +17.4 margin, 10 players are averaging more than six points, including Gabe Dorsey (15.3 ppg) and Noah Collier (11.9 ppg).

CAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Madison Durr, Monmouth
Durr went off for 33.5 points per game on 66.7 percent shooting from the floor (16-24 FG) and a perfect 33-for-33 from the charity stripe. The junior guard also registered 4.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. The Atlanta native became the CAA’s first 40-point scorer in over two years after unloading 40 points on 10-of-11 shooting and a perfect 19-for-19 from the line in a 104-97 double-overtime win against Drexel. His perfect performance at the line set a new CAA record for most made free throws without a miss. Durr’s mark also set a new game-high across the nation this season, becoming the 26th player in NCAA Division I history to knock down at least 19 free throws without a miss. Durr followed up with a 27-point performance in Monmouth’s 92-83 win over Delaware, draining all 14 of his attempts from the free-throw line. The Hawks’ guard also earned the Lou Henson National Player of the Week honor by CollegeInsider.com.
CAA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Collin O’Connor, Stony Brook
O’Connor produced back-to-back outings in double figures en route to 18.5 points across a full 40.0 minutes per game last week. The freshman guard flirted with a double-double against Charleston, posting 10 points and seven assists. The Dayton, Ohio product led all scorers with 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting, a trio of treys and a 6-for-6 showing at the line against UNCW. He also chipped in three boards and three assists against the Seahawks. O’Connor has registered double-digit scoring efforts in each of his last three games and paces the team with 67 total assists this season.

CAMPBELL CAMELS (12-11; 7-3 CAA)
- Colby Duggan and Nolan Dorsey registered 15 points apiece in Saturday’s 75-52 victory over Hofstra. The Camels secured their fifth straight CAA win, their longest winning streak against league opponents since winning seven straight games while playing in the Big South in Jan. 2021.
- The Camels lead the CAA in 3-point defense (23.9%) and turnover margin (+3.6) in league play.
- Campbell has outscored its opponents by 22.8 points during its five-game win streak, shooting 48.8% from the floor and 40.6% from deep.
CHARLESTON COUGARS (17-5; 7-2 CAA)
- AJ Smith and Derrin Boyd registered 25 points apiece to lift Charleston to an 81-74 win over Stony Brook. CJ Fulton also logged 11 rebounds and 11 assists. He is the second Div. I player this season to score two points or less with double-digit rebounds and assists.
- Fulton is among the top guards in the conference with a league-leading 4.6 assist/turnover ratio (1st in NCAA), 6.3 assists (13th) and 1.6 steals.
- Ante Brzovic has logged double figures in 19 of 22 games this season.
DELAWARE BLUE HENS (11-12; 4-6 CAA)
- John Camden and Cavan Reilly chipped in 20 and 16 points, respectively, against Monmouth on Saturday. Camden has reached double figures in 12 of his last 13 games.
- The Blue Hens rank second in the conference with 77.0 points per game on 47.3% shooting from the floor in 10 CAA contests.
- Delaware paces the league with an overall 78.7 percent clip from the charity stripe and 37.1 percent from distance.
DREXEL DRAGONS (12-11; 4-6 CAA)
- Kobe MaGee and Shane Blakeney finished with 11 points apiece, while Yame Butler scored 10 of his own against Towson. Butler has reached double figures in each of his last eight starts.
- Drexel is second in the CAA overall in field goal defense, holding the opposition to 29.9% from distance. It is also second in blocked shots (4.6 BPG).
- Cole Hargrove is tied for fifth in the conference with 7.4 rebounds and third with 1.7 blocks and 3.2 offensive boards per game this season.
ELON PHOENIX (15-8; 6-4 CAA)
- Phoenix Head Coach Billy Taylor secured his 250th career win in the team’s 71-60 victory over Northeastern. Nick Dorn led with 19 points and Matthew Van Komen registered 14 points, 14 boards and four blocks.
- Sam Sherry is tied with Charleston’s Brzovic for the league lead in double-doubles with seven. Rides 12-game double-digit scoring streak into Thursday.
- The Phoenix ranks fifth in NCAA Div. I with 41.7 boards per game and sits 10th with a +9.0 rebounding margin.
HAMPTON PIRATES (11-12; 3-7 CAA)
- Wayne Bristol Jr. completed a four-point play to help Hampton capture an 80-79 overtime win over Howard. George Beale Jr. produced a game-high 28 points on 8-of-18 shooting with five treys
- Beale has reached double figures in 10 of his last 11 contests. Averaged 23.5 points in two games last week.
- Hampton’s reserves, who lead nationally in bench scoring (39.1 ppg), are shooting at a 42.7% clip from the floor.
HOFSTRA PRIDE (12-11; 4-6 CAA)
- The Pride’s Cruz Davis, Jean Aranguren and Silas Sunday all scored 10 points apiece against Campbell on Saturday. Davis has reached double figures in five straight games, averaging 15.8 points per game.
- Aranguren has secured double-digit scoring in all but three starts this season, riding a 13-game streak with double figures
- The Pride paces the league in field goal defense with 37.9% shooting (8th in NCAA) and 65.0 points per game (27th).
MONMOUTH HAWKS (7-16; 5-5 CAA)
- Madison Durr (27 pts.) and Abdi Bashir Jr. (25 pts.) led Monmouth to a 92-83 victory over Delaware behind 25-point efforts.
- Durr averaged 33.5 points per game and knocked down all 33 attempts from the charity stripe last week.
- Bashir paces the CAA with 21.6 points and 4.0 made treys per game. He is averaging 24.3 over his last four games.
N.C. A&T AGGIES (4-19; 0-10 CAA)
- Jahnathan Lamothe led the Aggies with 20 points, hitting five of his six makes from distance. Nikolaos Chitikoudis returned and scored 16 points.
- Chitikoudis has reached double figures in four of his last five games, averaging 12.0 points per contest.
- Lamothe has also secured double-digit scoring in four of his last five contests, averaging 13.6 points over that span.
UNCW SEAHAWKS (18-5; 8-2 CAA)
- A balanced scoring effort led the Seahawks to its sixth consecutive win, 80-70, also marking the sixth straight game with at least 80 points scored.
- The Seahawks rank 15th in Div. I with 17.7 made free throws per game and 29th averaging 39.4 rebounds. Paces CAA with a +10.3 scoring margin (47th).

- Collin O’Connor registered a season-best 27 points at UNCW on Saturday.
- O’Connor produced back-to-back outings in double figures en route to 18.5 points per game without a break last week, playing all 80 minutes
- CJ Luster is sixth in league play with 17.4 points on 44.8 percent shooting from the floor (8th in CAA). He is also third with a 90.7% clip from the charity stripe and 3.1 made treys per contest.
TOWSON TIGERS (14-9; 9-1 CAA)
- Tyler Tejada (20 pts.) and Dylan Williamson (18 pts.) combined for 38 points to guide Towson to its eighth straight win with a 55-54 victory over Drexel
- Williamson (16.6 ppg), Tyler Tejada (15.8 ppg) and Nendah Tarke (13.9 ppg) have scored 63.8% of the team’s points during the winning streak.
- Williamson dominated in a 3-0 week for Towson, averaging 22.5 points in wins over Northeastern, Delaware and Drexel.
WILLIAM & MARY TRIBE (13-9; 7-2 CAA)
- Matteus Case stepped up with a 17-point showing against Campbell as William & Mary was without two starters, Noah Collier and Chase Lowe, for Thursday’s contest.
- The Tribe is tied with UNCW for the CAA lead with 80.3 points per game. They also pace the conference with 17.0 assists per game.
- Undefeated at home (9-0), +17.4 scoring margin and averaging 87.0 points per contest. Eight players posting seven points or better with Gabe Dorsey leading the way with 15.3 ppg.
