FIRST LOOK: New Balance Unveils Cooper Flagg’s New Signature Logo Inspired by His Maine Roots

Cooper Flagg is putting his personal stamp on New Balance.

New Balance has officially unveiled a signature logo for Dallas Mavericks star Cooper Flagg, giving the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year a new identity that blends his initials with a tribute to his home state of Maine.

The new design features a stylized “CF” monogram, with pine tree-inspired details incorporated into the letter “C.” The design reflects Flagg’s connection to Maine, widely known as the Pine Tree State, while maintaining a clean, modern look.

For Flagg, the logo was about more than simply creating a recognizable symbol. It was important that the design reflect who he is and where he came from.

“The logo design represents me. It connects to my name, but also to my roots, which is something that was really important to me,” Flagg said.

“Where I’m from, there are a lot of trees, so you’ll see the pine tree cutouts on the side as a reminder of staying true to who I am and where I grew up. I wanted to include hints of Maine while keeping the design clean and something that feels like me.”

What Does Cooper Flagg’s New Balance Logo Mean?

The logo combines two key elements of Flagg’s identity: his initials and his Maine roots.

The pine tree detailing gives the monogram a personal touch, connecting his growing basketball career to the place that helped shape him. According to reports, the logo will appear on New Balance products bearing Flagg’s name going forward.

The unveiling took place at a New Balance event at the NBA China store in Macao, as Flagg and the Mavericks prepare for the NBA China Games.

Is a Cooper Flagg Signature Shoe Coming?

The new logo naturally raises another question for sneaker fans: Could a signature Cooper Flagg basketball shoe be next?

Flagg signed with New Balance in August 2024, before his freshman season at Duke. Since entering the NBA, he has worn the New Balance Hesi Low v2, including a player-exclusive colorway featuring green accents inspired by Maine.

The new logo represents another step in the brand’s development of Flagg’s individual identity. However, New Balance has not officially announced a signature shoe release as part of this logo reveal.

Flagg enters his second NBA season after averaging 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game as a rookie, establishing himself as a centerpiece of the Mavericks’ future.

With his own logo now in place, sneakerheads will be watching to see how New Balance incorporates the design into future footwear and apparel.

What do you think of Cooper Flagg’s new New Balance logo? Is the pine tree-inspired “CF” design a hit, or does it need more flair? Let us know!
