Though the Men’s and Women’s SIAC Basketball Tournaments wrapped up this weekend , for handful of SIAC ball clubs, the dancing music plays on as they will continue on the the D-II NCAA tournament.

The 2022 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship brackets were announced Sunday night with two men’s teams and two women’s teams representing the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) among the 64 teams in each field.
On the women’s side, Savannah State and Benedict will represent the league.
Benedict College women’s basketball team will be the sixth seed in the NCAA Division II South Region, as the Lady Tigers begin a quest for a national championship. The Lady Tigers, 23-7 overall, earned the SIAC automatic bid to the national tournament with their conference championship on Saturday.
Benedict will face third-seed Lee University in the first round on Friday on the campus of Union University in Jackson, Tenn. The game time will be announced later.
On Sunday night, Savannah State women’s basketball earned the No. 8 seed in the South Region and will play No. 1 seed Union on March 11in Jackson, Tennessee in the opening round of the 2022 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament. The Lady Tigers, 27-2, are one of the best teams in program history, setting several school records en-route to an SIAC East Division Championship this season.

On the men’s side, Savannah State and Miles will represent the conference in this year’s NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament.
The Tigers, 15-13, shocked the entire conference with an incredible 4-0 run in the 2022 SIAC Championship Tournament that resulted in a rout of Benedict College in the title game. The men’s team received an automatic qualifier after winning the 2022 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Championship on Saturday.
Miles men’s basketball earned the No. 5 seed in the South Region and are set to face No. 4 Union on March 12 in the opening round. The opening round game will tip at 6:30 p.m. and will take place in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. at Rick Case Arena, which is on the campus of Nova Southeastern, the tournament’s top seed. At 24-4, Miles is tied for the second-most wins of any team in the region, behind only Nova Southeastern, which is 28-0.
