Grambling State University midfielder Kaydeen Jack and forward Lizbeth Aguero were named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Preseason Women’s Soccer teams, the conference announced on Thursday.
Jack was tabbed to the All-SWAC First Team, while Aguero earned to the All-SWAC Second Tam.
Jack, who was selected to represent the country of Trinidad & Tobago in a pair of CONCACAF World Championship qualifiers in February, started in 16 games last season and played in 1,427 minutes. She finished with six points, with a pair of goals in being named to the All-SWAC First Team in 2021.
Aguero, an All-SWAC Second Team selection in 2021, was second in goals scored (6) and points (13) for the Lady Tigers. She started in 16 games and logged in 1,053 minutes.
Natalie Freeman, of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, was tabbed the SWAC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, while Andrea Nugent, of Prairie View A&M, earned the SWAC’s Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Shelia Sanchez, of Alabama State, was selected the SWAC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.
Grambling State opens the 2022 season on Friday, August 19 at LSU-Shreveport. Kickoff in Shreveport, La. is set for 5:30 p.m.
