For his recent exploits on the hardwood, Hampton freshman guard Daniel Johnson was named CAA Rookie of the Week. In the Pirates’ 83-67 win over Howard in the “Battle of the Real HU”, Johnson came off the pine to score 9 points on 3-5 FG, including 2-4 from downtown, adding 1 rebound, 1 assist and a steal in just 17 minutes of action. On the season, the Chicago native is posting per game averages of 6.7 points and 2.2 boards.
This marks the second consecutive week a Pirate has claimed
conference ROTW honors, with Etienne Strothers being named Rookie of the Week last week.
