MATCHUP PREVIEW

HOWARD

Howard (0-2) enters the matchup after a hard-fought battle against American (AU) Tuesday (Feb. 11) where they fell, 18-7. Despite the result, graduate attacker Sawyer Walker (Magnolia, Del.) and freshman midfielder Leah Croom (Miami) shined, each recording a hat trick. Walker also dominated the draw circle with eight draw controls and an assist.

In goal, freshman Madeline Willocks (Freeport, N.Y.) delivered a strong performance, registering a game-high 13 saves.

Howard showed resilience in the first half against American, outshooting AU in the second quarter and trimming the deficit to five before halftime. The Bison will look to carry that energy into their matchup against UMBC as they continue to develop chemistry with their young squad.

UMBC

UMBC enters the matchup looking to protect home turf. The Retrievers compete in the America East Conference and they are coming off a challenging 2024 season but aiming to improve their standing this year.

With a mix of veteran experience and emerging talent, UMBC will look to use their home-field advantage against a developing Howard squad.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Howard returns to action for a midweek matchup Wednesday (Feb. 26) at Radford. The game is set for 3 p.m., in Radford, Va.
