With the 2026 regular season entering its final stretch, the Indiana Fever are publicly campaigning for their star guard to receive consideration for the league’s top individual honor.
And the numbers give Clark plenty to point to.
Through 36 games, Clark is averaging 22.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 1.0 steal per game, while shooting 45.6% from the field and 37.3% from three-point range.
Her 22.5 points per game rank third in the WNBA, while her 8.4 assists per game rank second.
The Numbers Behind Clark’s MVP Case
Clark’s scoring has taken a significant step forward this season.
She’s averaging 22.5 points per game while maintaining a 45.6% field-goal percentage. She’s also continued to operate as one of the league’s premier playmakers, producing 8.4 assists per game.
That combination of scoring and playmaking has been central to Indiana’s offense.
Clark has also produced several huge performances down the stretch. She recorded 34 points and 12 assists against Connecticut on Aug. 28 and followed that with 37 points and 10 assists against Chicago on Aug. 23.
The Fever Are Making Their Case
Indiana isn’t being subtle about where the franchise stands.
The Fever posted a graphic on social media Wednesday featuring Clark’s statistics and the message:
“Caitlin Clark for MVP.”
The post highlighted her 22.5 points, 45.6% shooting, 8.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game.
With four regular-season games remaining, the timing of the campaign is notable as the league heads toward the postseason.
There’s Still a Debate
Clark’s numbers put her in the conversation, but the MVP race remains broader than one player’s statistical profile.
Reigning MVP A’ja Wilson is also having a major statistical season, averaging 26.0 points 9.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists, while Minnesota’s Napheesa Collier and other players remain part of the league’s larger MVP discussion.
Clark’s own statistical profile also includes areas that can become part of the debate. She is averaging 4.6 turnovers per game, according to ESPN’s current statistics.
That’s part of what makes the final stretch of the season so important.
Four Games to Make the Case
The Fever currently sit at 26-14, tied with Atlanta for second place in the Eastern Conference, according to ESPN’s current standings.
Clark has four regular-season games remaining to add to an already impressive statistical résumé.
Whether those numbers ultimately translate into MVP votes will be determined by the league’s voters.
But one thing is clear:
The Indiana Fever want Caitlin Clark in that conversation.
